Bamboo Is began where all great things happen in our house - the kitchen. Somewhere between busy mornings, shared meals, and weekend dinner parties, we realised we needed pieces that could keep up. Something beautiful enough to leave out, practical enough for everyday use, and sustainable enough to warm the room. 

That’s what led us here. And those three things still guide every decision we make:

• Beauty; We love to host. To fill the house with family, friends, good food and laughter. And we wanted pieces that matched the feeling - something coastal, earthy, warm. Something we would be proud to leave on the bench, that invites hands to gather around it. Design that feels personal and individual.
• Practicality; We’re not precious about our kitchenware. We love to use it, so we use it daily. We knew from the start we need sturdy pieces. A butcher’s block you can chop on, prep on, serve from. Something that earns its place with beauty, but stays in the heart of the kitchen because of its practicality.
• Sustainability; We also care deeply about what things are made from, and what gets left behind in that process. In that regard, bamboo stood out because it grows quickly, regenerates naturally, and leaves a lighter footprint. But more than that, it’s strong, graceful, and honest. It just feels right in your hands and in your home.

That’s the story behind Bamboo Is. A quiet shift toward more considered living. A belief that the things we bring into our homes should reflect what we value; natural beauty, thoughtful design, and simple, lasting quality.

Our pieces are made to be used. Wiped down after breakfast. Carried to the table with cheese and olives. Passed around at birthdays. And still there, years on. Always beautiful, practical, sustainable.
